Xiaomi launches Mi Smart Band 5 and Mi TWS Earphones
Xiaomi held an online event yesterday to announce a bunch of “lifestyle” products and I must agree, all of the products are pretty impressive. Some of the products revealed are wider releases for previously launched products. While there are some other products that are entirely new. The totally classic lineup of products includes Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5, Mi TV Stick, Curved Gaming Monitor, Mi Electric Scooter, and Mi True Wireless earphones.
While the rest of the products have already been described in the previous article, here we’ll be discussing the Mi Band 5 and Mi TWS earphones. So let’s just jump towards the specs and features of both of them.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5
Xiaomi added the word “Smart” to the name of the band, but it still hasn’t added NFC to its latest version. (that remains exclusive to China) The latest Xiaomi Mi Band 5 comes with a larger 1.1-inch AMOLED display. up from the 0.95-inch. The new Mi Band 5 supports widgets. It allows you to customize the indicators on the home screen. Also, speaking about the indicators, the heart rate monitor of this Band 5 is 50% more accurate than the previous one.
The other noticeable and big upgrade of the Smart Band 5 is that the charging cable can be attached without removing the gadget from its wrist bands. This is a great feature for anyone who likes to use metal bands. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 will launch with 6 official wrist bands. There’ll be 65 pre-loaded themes for the home screen in it. Some of the themes also feature animated characters in the case for someone the static display is too boring. The battery life of the Mi Band 5 is 14 days.
The band is water-resistant to ATM5. This means that you can take it for a swim in the pool. There are a total of 11 exercise modes in the Band, which include jump rope, yoga, etc. The sleep tracking of the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is upgraded to detect the REM sleep and can track your naps too. Along with that, it can also detect your stress levels, and guide you through a breathing exercise. Female health tracking is an important new feature on Band 5 too.
The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 price starts at 40 Euros. But for the early buyers, the price of the Band 5 will be 35 Euros instead.
Xiaomi Mi TWS Earphones
The Xiaomi Mi TWS Earphones feature 14.2 mm dynamic diaphragms. It supports the AAC audio codec for high-quality wireless audio. The Mi Earphones also feature noise cancellation for calls by using an extra pair of mics. The TWS earphones have an on-a-charge battery life of 5 hours, then you can place them in their case to top them up. Combined, the total battery life of the earphones is 20 hours. The case supports USB Type-C, so you can use your mobile’s charger too.

The earbuds feature pretty-standard touch controls. Smart ear detection is one of the attractive features of the earphones, well if you were expecting “basic” features. What the smart ear detection features do is it automatically pauses your music player when you take one of your earbuds out and resumes playing when you put it back. The Mi TWS Earphones will cost 40 Euros, but in case you pre-order it, you’ll get it at a price of just 30 Euros.
